Woodlot Amour Nourishing Body Lotion Review

When Woodlot launched their Nourishing Body Lotions in 2017, I was so excited. They've been a longtime favourite of mine, with beautifully scented candles, cleansing palo santo, and most recently, a line of essential oils that capture their exquisite candle scents in a tiny bottle.

I've recently had the chance to try their Nourishing Body Lotion in Amour, and I'm so excited to tell you about it!

Made Of...

  • Organic Sunflower Oil
  • Cocoa Butter
  • Olive Oil
  • Coconut Derived MCT Oil
  • Botanical Preservatives
  • Palmarosa Essential Oil
  • Rose Damask Essential Oil
  • Black Pepper Essential Oil

Smells Like...

Honestly, the captivating scent is part of what made me want to share this lotion. I think it's the black pepper essential oil - a truly unique ingredient I've never experienced. This lotion reminds me of warm, spicy black tea. There's a little linger of the rose, but it's very light, and the combination of black pepper and rose gives this lotion a truly incredible scent I adore.

Feels Like...

A conventional lotion. And I mean that in the best way possible. I'm really picky with lotions, because I find natural ones are either too light and ineffective, or too heavy and greasy. But this one feels like a conventional lotion - it has a light texture, but it sinks in quickly, and leaves my skin soft, supple, and soothed.

I don't know how they did it, especially because this contains cocoa butter which is notorious for being very thick, but they did. I even loved using this throughout the Winter, a time when I normally have to switch to body butters because my skin is so dry.

The Ritual

I apply lotion at night because I love waking up with soft skin.

If I've had a bath or shower, I'll towel off and apply lotion right away. When your skin is still damp, the lotion sinks in really quickly, so when you're properly dry, your skin will be oh so soft!

If I haven't had a bath or shower, I'll dry brush all over to improve circulation and give my skin a light exfoliation, and then I'll follow with this lotion. I usually do this before my skincare, as it gives the lotion time to sink in before I jump into bed.

Have you tried this new Woodlot offering? What are you waiting for?

With love,

Sarah
