The Granola Goat Face Serums Review
The Granola Goat Face Serums Review

I've tried one of The Granola Goat full sized serums before, but when I took another look at their products, and realized they offer sample sizes, I had to take advantage!

I'm usually not one for samples, but I'm also very picky with my products, so it's really rare that I want to try *everything* from a brand. However, that's totally the case with The Granola Goat - I literally want to try everything.

So without further ado, here are my thoughts on four of The Granola Goat serums!

Brighter Days Serum

Made With...

  • Red Raspberry Seed Oil*
  • Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil*
  • Sandalwood Essential Oil**
  • Neroli Essential Oil**

**Organically Grown

Scent - If you're sensitive to fragrance, rest assured that none of these serums contain any artificial fragrance, but as they're made with natural plant and essential oils, they will have natural scents.

This one has a grounding scent with a hint of citrus, thanks to the red raspberry seed oils and sandalwood and neroli essential oils. It's not overpowering, and I really enjoyed it!

Efficacy - I love a good brightening serum and I was really impressed with how well this worked. Without using harsh ingredients, my skin felt brighter and more clear, while the redness and irritation from my acne seemed to be reduced by a lot!

    Starry Night Serum

    Made With...

    • Watermelon Seed Oil*
    • Blue Tansy Essential Oil**
    • Geranium Essential Oil**

    *Certified Organic
    **Organically Grown

Scent - Okay so this serum is like liquid gold for my skin based on it's properties alone, but the scent was one of my favourite things! The blue tansy and geranium essential oils are apparently my favourite scents - they're bright and uplifting, and just oh so good. I'm going to look into buying the blue tansy oil so I can add it to face masks.

Efficacy - This worked so well to clear my skin, reduce redness and irritation, and moisturize. I think all three ingredients are just perfect for the skin - the watermelon oil is a unique ingredient that's apparently really great for the skin, the blue tansy is super anti-inflammatory, and the geranium is a natural, gentle astringent that works well for all skin types!

      One in a Melon Serum

      Made With...

      • Watermelon Seed Oil**
      • Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil*
      • Sandalwood Essential Oil**
      • Manuka Essential Oil**

      * = Wild Harvested /Fairly Traded
      ** = Organically Grown

Scent - Despite the essential oils, this serum didn't really have much of a scent, which makes it ideal for people who avoid scented products and ideal for sensitive skin!

Efficacy - The ingredients in this serum are all meant to soothe the skin and it truly does. My skin was left not only soft and moisturized, but I noticed less redness, irritation, and inflammation!

      24 Carrot Face Serum

      • Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil*
      • Frankincense Essential Oil**

Scent - This is another serum that didn't have a prominent scent, so once again it's a great pick for people sensitive to fragrance!

Efficacy - This serum is formulated to heal sun damage, which I'm so appreciative of! I talk a lot about brightening products (because it's one of the best way to have healthier looking skin!) and one of the ways you can do this is by protecting your skin from sun damage, and using products that heal the damage that's already been done. This serum worked really well to do just that - the ingredients have lots of antioxidants and omega 6s to moisturize, nourish, protect, and heal! I also noticed my skin just looked a lot calmer and brighter!

      The Granola Goat Serums Overview

Texture - These are all made with oils, so obviously there is the usual oil texture to them, but I think these are some of my favourite oil based serums because of the texture. They're all very light oils that sink into the skin relatively quickly, and while they leave your skin moisturized, it definitely doesn't feel like you just used a face oil. All in all I really enjoy the light texture, because it means I can get the benefits of the plant oils all year long!

Sustainability - I really really really appreciate how much The Granola Goat does for sustainability. A lot of smaller brands simply can't afford 100% certified organic ingredients, but Liz uses as many certified organic ingredients as possible, and if they're not certified organic, they're organically grown or wild harvested. She also uses glass packaging (including these samples!) and reuses packing materials as often as possible! You can learn more about the sustainability of Liz's products in her About page and FAQ!
