The 100% Pure Volumizing Shampoo + Conditioner Review

While the green beauty industry is always exploding with new skincare, I feel like the hair care always falls flat. There’s just not that many brands making hair care that is both effective and natural.
But after trying the 100% Pure Kelp & Mint Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner, I was really happy. Not only did this line effectively clean and nourish my hair, but my hair felt soft, smooth, manageable, and I did see a little increase in volume! And like most of their products, 100% Pure uses super clean ingredients that are safe for you and the planet.

Scent - The shampoo has a very distinct, but not overpowering mint scent that’s really refreshing. The conditioner has smells like mint, but there’s something else in there that I can’t quite discern. I’m going to assume it’s the kelp. It’s not a bad scent at all; it’s quite herbal and ‘natural’ smelling. Neither lingers too much after your hair is dried.
Texture - The shampoo is a little bit runny, which can be messy until you get used to it. The conditioner has a pretty traditional texture.
Efficacy - I was really pleased that these worked well. The shampoo was cleansing, but it didn’t strip my hair like some shampoos can. The conditioner was light and nourishing, but not too heavy for my fine hair. Most importantly, my hair was soft, smooth, and manageable after washing. I did feel like my hair was more voluminous, especially on days one and two. I didn’t feel like I needed to style my hair at all (not that I ever do, because I’m lazy with my hair, but you get the idea).
While not the best picture, if you know me you’ll know my hair is usually stick straight, so any kind of texture or volume is much appreciated. The below photo was on a day one wash, and for me that’s a lot more texture and volume than I normally get!

Sustainability - I think the best thing 100% Pure could do is use more organic and fair trade ingredients, especially given the higher price tag for their products. They could also look into switching to aluminum shampoo / conditioner bottles, as that would cut down on the plastic!
