I try to include a variety of products in my empties posts - some hair products, a few skin care, and a body product or two. But this time around, it's all about the skin care empties.
Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Balm // The Body Shop
I love this balm. It's a luxurious, silky balm that I massage into my skin for around two minutes, and remove with a warm face cloth. It easily removes makeup and really hydrates my skin.
It also doesn't irritate my skin, and I haven't noticed any problems with redness or clogged pores. I have already repurchased, and I would repurchase again.
Fresh Face Mask - Cupcake // Lush
Disclaimer: I have a love/hate relationship with Lush. They like to market their products as natural, and while they may be more natural than a lot of conventional products, they are definitely not all natural. Aside from a few products, most contain parabens and other nasties. Their face masks usually have okay ingredients, and there are a few bath bombs that I'll use because they don't have chemicals, colourings, or parabens. But otherwise, I stay away from Lush.
Cupcake is really good for oily and problematic skin. My skin is definitely not oily, but it can be problematic. This works well to calm the redness and help clear my skin, thanks to the cocoa powder and Moroccan lava clay.
The Lush staff will tell you that their masks only last a few weeks, but I disagree. Mine lasted a few months before the texture started to change. However, I'm not sure I'd repurchase this one because I have a lot of masks that work better, last longer and have cleaner ingredients.
Organic Acai Berry Antioxidant Facial Cream // 100 Percent Pure
This is a cream meant for drier skin types, so I thought it'd be a good match for me.
I find this isn't a very thick cream, and it smells kind of weird. But that's because Acai Berry Fruit Oil is one of the top ingredients, perfect for giving our skin an intense dose of vitamins and antioxidants.
This is a really good moisturizer to transition from Winter to Spring because it can be layered for more hydration, or you can leave it at one pump. I would repurchase this, but I'd wait until it's a bit colder.
1000 Roses Samples // Andalou Naturals
Last month, I did a review on the most recent skin care line from Andalou Naturals - their 1000 Roses collection.
This line is made for people with sensitive and dry skin, so the products appear frequently in my skin care routine. Their Floral Toner is an essential, and both the Beautiful Day Cream and Heavenly Night Cream are light but hydrating. The day cream works well under SPF and makeup and the night cream pairs well with oils for added hydration. I plan on repurchasing all of these products.
Have you tried any of these products? What did you think?
Until next time,
