Rocky Mountain Soap Co. Rosemary Mint Shampoo + Conditioner Review
Let's face it - I'm a skincare blogger. (Get it? Face? Skincare? Hehe)
Which means if I'm writing about hair care, it must be something special.
This hair care line is...
- Cruelty Free
- Made in Canada
- Non GMO
- Packaged in recyclable plastic
They're made with...
- Coconut Oil
- Glycerin (Just Shampoo)
- Pine Extract
- Chamomile Flower Extract
- Fern Leaf Extract
- Nettle Leaf Extract
- Dandelion Leaf Extract
- Apple Cider Vinegar (Just Shampoo)
- Peppermint Oil
- Rosemary Leaf Oil
Interestingly, the Shampoo and Conditioner have almost the exact same ingredients list, except there is glycerin and apple cider vinegar in the Shampoo.
Instead of sulfates and other conventional hair care ingredients, these are made with moisturizing coconut oil, hydrating glycerin, and herbal extracts like pine, chamomile, nettle, and dandelion, with pH balancing apple cider vinegar and energizing essential oils like rosemary and peppermint. I love that the ingredients list is short and sweet - most haircare products tend to have a lot of ingredients, but Rocky Mountain Soap Co formulated these products with just the good stuff!
Texture - Both products are light in texture, and they're easy to apply and spread throughout the hair. Despite the lack of sulfates, the Rosemary Mint Shampoo still lathers really well, and I don't find I need to double shampoo.
Scent - This Rosemary Mint line has a clean, fresh scent that reminds me of a professional hair care line!
Efficacy - My hair is soft, smooth, and most importantly - balanced. I'm no longer experiencing an itchy or flaky scalp. My hair isn't greasy, nor is it dry. It doesn't look dull anymore - instead it looks bright, shiny, and healthy!
Sustainability** - I love that these products are packaged in easily recyclable bottles. Most hair care packaging is difficult to clean, which makes it difficult to recycle, but these are totally different! I also love that the ingredients are GMO free, but I think the sustainability could be improved by using Fair Trade coconut oil, as that's a better option for us and for the planet! That being said, these products work so well I've already bought the Vanilla Coconut line!
**This new feature of my reviews is meant to offer my readers valuable insight into what sustainability is so they know what to look for in their own products. Any product I feature here is one I truly believe in and recommend with my whole heart - so if I have recommendations on improving sustainability, it's always with love and compassion - I'm never trying to bring anyone down!
