I used to love making my own beauty products. But then the world of green beauty exploded, and there were so many new brands to try.
Lately, I've been taking the time to research recipes, gather ingredients, and make my own beauty products again. Not only does it give me complete creative control, but making my own products is really affordable. It's also really easy, and most of the time the ingredients are already in your kitchen.
Last year I shared my favourite DIY recipe, a Coffee + Coconut Body Scrub. I adore coffee, so I use it pretty frequently in my beauty routine.
The scrub I'm sharing today is inspired by green tea. I've started drinking a cup every morning and I've actually noticed a big difference in my skin. My skin is smoother, calmer, and it's got a natural glow that I've never really seen before.
- 1 + 3/4 cup Sugar
- 1/8 cup Coconut Oil
- 2 TB loose leaf Green Tea (or 1 tea bag)
- 1/4 cup brewed Green Tea
- Brew a cup of your favourite green tea
- While it's cooling down, mix the sugar, coconut oil, and loose green tea
- Slowly and carefully add the cooled brewed tea
- Mix to combine
- Pour into your favourite glass jar and enjoy!
I love this scrub; it's a very gentle, hydrating scrub with a light, fresh scent.
The sugar gently exfoliates, while the coconut oil hydrates. The green tea is going to help heal scars, brighten dull skin, and reduce puffiness.
