Meow Meow Tweet Deodorant Stick Review

Meow Meow Tweet Deodorant Review

If you've been interested in green beauty for any length of time, you will probably know of the Meow Meow Tweet deodorants. Traditionally packaged in glass jars with their signature, whimsical designs, the Meow Meow Tweet deodorants are some of the most popular natural deodorants.

Recently they've launched a Deodorant Stick made with ingredients similar to their classic formulas, but instead of a glass jar, the stick is packaged in a biodegradable material that actually breaks down in your garden. Today I want to share my thoughts on these ingenious new launches.

What is the Packaging Made of?

Instead of using a glass jar, which can be a bit messy as you use your fingers to apply, and instead of a plastic stick, which ends up in a landfill, these sticks are made with a biodegradable paper. And it's not a flimsy paper either, it's a really well made, sturdy material that holds up to every day wear and tear. But, when it's tossed in your garden or composting bin, it will break down, leaving behind a few natural products like oxygen. No plastic, no waste, no more landfill stuff!

What are the Ingredients?

Sunflower oil, arrowroot powder, candelilla wax, shea butter, cocoa butter, and baking soda are some of the few ingredients in this stick. Most of which are certified organic, reducing the pesticides that come in contact with your pits.

There's also, of course, quality essential oils that give this stick it's glorious scent. Depending on the scent you pick, there's rosemary, lemon, eucalyptus, clove, lavender, bergamot, and lemongrass.

Does it Work?

Yes! This lasts through eight hour work shifts, long days on campus, and it even lasts through a workout. I'm pretty sure no deodorant has ever worked that well before.

My favourite thing about this deodorant is that I actually don't notice it all day. I feel like with deodorants, you either have ones that don't work (so you notice throughout the day that it isn't working) or you have ones that are so heavily perfumed it's tough not to notice them. And then they can irritate you or people around you.

This deodorant is made with essential oils instead of artificial fragrance. It smells great on application, but the scent doesn't really hang around all day, so you're not left with this overpowering fragrance. But because the deodorant actually works, you're not going to smell bad either. It's my ideal deodorant situation.

What about the Scents?

Meow Meow Tweet recently asked their audience which scent was their favourite and I could barely decide. Picking between Lavender Bergamot and Lemon Eucalyptus is difficult!

They both smell wonderful. Lavender and bergamot are one of my favourite calming, grounding combinations. I actually get a little more of the lemongrass instead of bergamot but that's probably because lemongrass is my favourite scent so I'm always hunting it down. That being said, the citrus deodorant is also wonderfully uplifting, and the lemon gives me that fresh, clean feeling.

The Short Review.

Made with mostly organic ingredients that work so well together, this effective deodorant stick is a sustainable, environmentally friendly alternative to conventional deodorant sticks, but without the chemicals or artificial fragrance.

Have you tried this Deodorant Stick? What are your thoughts on biodegradable packaging?

With love,

Sarah
