After reading Skin Cleanse by Adina Grigore, completing a Food Journal and a Product Journal, and going on a proper, two week skin cleanse, I've had to rethink my approach to beauty.

I've made a promise to myself to simplify not only the products I use, but the ingredients that go in them. This is why I love the Meow Meow Tweet Cocoa Skin Cream (Since Discontinued).

What's Special About the Cocoa Skin Cream?

It's made with just four, organic ingredients; cocoa butter, shea butter, hempseed oil, and sunflower oil.

What Do These Ingredients Do?

My favourite part of this cream is the cocoa butter. Not only does it give the cream a heavenly, chocolate scent, but it reduces inflammation, and has lots of antioxidants to protect your skin. (Read More)

The shea butter is full of vitamins and fatty acids, so it's really nourishing for your skin. It's also an anti inflammatory, so it's great for irritated or sensitive skin. (Read More

The hempseed oil is great for severly dry and dehydrated skin, as it increases skin elasticity and improves water retention. It'll leave your skin softer and more plump.

The sunflower oil is rich in Vitamin E, an antioxidant that can help improve skin regeneration, which actually improves your skin's natural sun protection. (Read More)

What is the Texture Like?

I'm really picky with my lotions and creams. I want a product that is nourishing, not too messy, and sinks in quickly.

I love this cream because it's so hydrating, but it's also not too messy. The butters and oils combine to create a unique texture that's not an oil, but it's not really a cream either. It's like a creamy oil.

It also sinks in pretty quickly. Butters normally leave my skin feeling greasy and gross, while oils leave me feeling slippery, and lotions can sometimes sink in so quickly I feel like I didn't get any hydration at all. This one is right in the middle, so it's really the best of both worlds.

The Short Review

In short, I love this cream because it has just four, organic ingredients that are all beneficial for my skin. They work together to create a unique texture and scent for a wonderfully hydrating experience.

Bonus: You can even use this as a makeup remover. Apply with your fingers and massage into skin, or apply with cotton rounds. (Find reusable ones here, or DIY your own!)
