Exfoliation is so important for your skin's health. Exfoliating removes the top layer of cells, speeding up your skin's regeneration process and revealing glowing skin. It's also an important step to prevent acne, as build up can clog your pores.
But finding a good exfoliator can be difficult. Facial scrubs are an absolute no for me as they're way to rough.
Cleansing grains are great, but they often contain oats, which hurt my stomach so I'm a little cautious to rub them on my face.
You can also use konjac sponges or liquid exfoliants, but the packaging isn't always environmentally friendly.
While finding an exfoliant is challenging, I've got you. Today I want to share my new go to exfoliant that's made with just three, organic ingredients.
Who is cocokind?
Cocokind is San Francisco based organic skincare line that harnesses the versatility of virgin coconut oil. Their founder, Priscilla Tsai, creates superfood beauty products from skincare to skincare-as-makeup.
What are the Ingredients?
The Organic Sea Moss Exfoliator caught my eye because it's made with just three, organic ingredients. This gentle but effective exfoliator is a blend of irish moss, grape seed flour, and geranium oil.
Irish moss provides minerals to your skin, while the grapeseed flour provides antioxidants. The geranium oil acts as a gentle astringent that doesn't strip or irritate your skin.
How do you use it?
I use this exfoliant weekly during my DIY facial routine.
I pour a small amount into the palm of my hand, add a few drops of water, and rub between my hands to create a paste. Then I massage the paste into my skin for around a minute, using gentle, circular motions.
Not only am I removing dead skin cells, I'm giving myself a little facial massage.
I find this to be one of the most important steps for healthy skin. This super fine powder is full of nourishing minerals and antioxidants to revive dull skin and reveal a bright and glowing complexion.
I've also found it an important step in preventing acne because the exfoliator doesn't cause any irritation or inflammation, but it does remove pore clogging skin cells.
Cocokind is working on getting Canadian shipping up and running, but in the mean time their products can be purchased through iHerb.
