Facials are a great way to maintain great skin. Professionals can cleanse, exfoliate, and apply masks suited to your skin's needs. They're also trained to do extractions without hurting your skin.
I've had a few facials, and absolutely loved them and the results. Due to skin sensitivities, I've stopped going to professional spas. But I have developed a simple facial routine that I do weekly. It's a simple self care practice I do every Sunday evening.
Start with a Proper Cleanse
To remove makeup, give your skin a proper cleanse. If you're wearing lots of makeup, consider double cleansing to really remove every last bit of makeup.
Follow with an Exfoliant
While there are lots of face scrubs out there, I don't recommend using a scrub. Exfoliants like sugar and salt can be incredibly harsh on your fragile facial skin.
Instead, opt for a gentler physical exfoliant like exfoliating grains or a konjac sponge. If those physical exfoliants don't do it for you, use a chemical exfoliant instead. Now I'm not taking about harsh chemicals, but a natural alternative.
Steam Your Face
I love face steaming. It's a super simple way to get a healthy, natural glow. You can read my post all about face steaming here, where I even share a few "recipe ideas".
Mask it Up
If you want to get creative and make your own, here are some simple ideas to get you started.
That's it! That's my simple, DIY facial routine that helps to give my skin some extra loving. Once you've finished masking, follow up with a toner, serum, and moisturizer. You'll wake up with soft, smooth, glowing skin.
