Empties #12: Body, Hair, Skin + Makeup

I feel like I wrote my last empties post just a few days ago, but not so, it was almost a month ago. October flew by, and while it wasn't the most enjoyable month (work stress is such a lovely thing) I'm kind of sad because November is here and the year is almost over. It's almost Christmas and then it'll be New Years and 2016. The year flew by and I'm feeling a bit nostalgic over it.

While I deal with the passing of time, let's chat about my empties!

Passion Fruit Smoothing Body Butter // Andalou Naturals (Discontinued)

I've gone on and on about the Andalou body lotions and hand creams, but this was the first body butter I tried. The lotions are definitely hydrating, but these take it up a notch. Some of the ingredients include Shea, cocoa and mango butters, beeswax, aloe and tamanu oil, all of which are super nourishing and moisturizing. I use the Andalou body lotions all year, but I think it's time to switch over to the body butters. I will be repurchasing, though not in this particular scent, I'm more of a citrus person than a berry person.

A Path of Light Lavender Hand Cream // Andalou Naturals

I'm wondering if I should stop including the Andalou body lotions and hand creams in my empties, because they're in almost every empties post. But that wouldn't be fair, so I'll just point you towards the last empties posts. And yes, I'll be repurchasing. I actually just bought two more. Oops.

Dry Shampoo // Acure Organics

Can we just have a moment of silence for my hair now? Seriously, Acure isn't in Canada (yet!) and I've run out of their dry shampoo. I'm making do with another dry shampoo but it's just not the same. Acure's soaks up any excess oil, lets me go days between washes, and adds so much volume and texture to my hair. It is the only styling product I use because it's a multipurpose powerhouse of good hair. It's a miracle in a bottle and I will definitely be buying a few when I go back home.

Refreshing Facial Wipes // Live Clean

I'm not a fan of wipes, I don't think they do a good job at removing your makeup or properly cleansing your face, but they do come in handy. I used these at the gym to remove some of my makeup before I got all sweaty. They're also nice to have in your car or bag in case you feel your makeup is a bit too heavy or if you need a touch up. These work okay, but they didn't blow my mind. They removed some of my makeup without irritating my skin, but I won't be repurchasing.

Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Balm // The Body Shop

I'm sad to see this go, and yes I know I can just buy another, but I've got so much skincare at the moment I'm trying to go through everything. This is such a luxurious, silky feeling butter that instantly melts away your makeup, leaving you with soft, hydrated skin that just glows. It's my favourite part of my night time routine, especially in the Winter when my skin feels like a desert. If you haven't tried this, go get a tub now.

Seriously Hydrating Facial Toner // Acure Organics (DIscontinued)

I adore the Acure toner for problematic skin, so I thought I'd love this one too. But I was kind of disappointed overall. It isn't a bad toner, but it just didn't really hydrate my skin. I won't be repurchasing this toner, but I do plan on picking up their other option.

Fruit Pigmented Tinted Moisturizer in Creme // 100% Pure

This is one of the only base products I use daily because it's hydrating, there's some sun protection in there, and it's got light to medium coverage that is just what my skin needs. I can cover my blemishes and even my skin tone without caking on foundation. I already have another bottle ready to go.

Fruit Pigmented Brightening Concealer in Creme // 100% Pure

A brightening concealer works wonders when your skin needs a bit of a pick me up. This offers light coverage on your blemishes, problem spots, and under your eyes. There's very little creasing as long as you use an eye cream before hand, and it is pretty long lasting, though if carrying your look from day to night you'll need a touch up. I already have two more in my makeup bag.

Brow Wiz in Taupe // Anastasia Beverly Hills

I ran out of this while on holiday and it was the worst. I was in London, Ontario so I did have access to a Sephora, but when you're getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner, nobody wants to run out of their brow pencil halfway through the process. While I admit, this isn't the most natural product, it's just so good I can't give it up. Nothing I've tried works as well! This has a super thin point so I can get really detailed with my brows, but also just create a simple, natural look if I choose. It lasts all day long and the actual pen lasts for a few months, which is longer than most alternatives that I've tried. It just works so well, I have to have one at all times. If you're in love with one of your green beauty brow products, please let me know!

Until next time,

Sarah
