Hi. I'm Sarah!

Welcome to Simple and Sustainable, the blog for all things green beauty!

Empties #11: Green Beauty Skincare Products

When I went through my box of empties, I realized I had way too many for one blog post. So naturally I split the products into two. Yesterday I reviewed my body + hair care products and today I'm going to chat about the skincare empties.

Organic Argan Oil Creamy Cleaner // 100% Pure

I have many mixed feelings about this. I received it in a GWP and was really excited to try my first creamy cleanser. But this isn't creamy at all, it's more like a gel. It wasn't drying, but it wasn't hydrating either. It also contains vitamin C so I didn't want to use it in the morning, and it wasn't that good at removing makeup so I couldn't really use it at night either. It smells so delicious and citrusy though, and it was good for exfoliating my skin. But I won't be repurchasing.

Blossom + Leaf Toning Refresher // Andalou Naturals

I loved this toner. This lasted for about a year, so it's a really affordable option. It offers a bit of hydration for drier skin types, so it's perfect now that the weather is getting colder. I've also suggested this to my mom and boyfriend's mom and I haven't heard any complaints so far! I would repurchase this, but I do want to try some of their other toners first. But it's on my go to list if I run out of other products to try.

Green Tea & Rose Hydrating Face Serum // John Masters Organics

Okay so the thing with this serum is I loved the serum itself. This was my first introduction to John Masters and I'd say it was a positive one. The serum was really lovely for calming and soothing my skin and offering a bit of hydration. I loved the green tea and rose ingredients and it smells really light and fresh. But the packaging is weird. I love the glass part but the lid wouldn't stay on so I'd have to screw it back on every day. I may have just gotten a bad bottle, but it was kind of annoying. I may repurchase this, but there are so many other serums I want to try too, so we'll see!

Radical Resurfacing Treatment // Acure Organics

I just want to say off the bat, I won't be repurchasing this. I was so excited for it but it just didn't do anything for my skin. I didn't notice any different whatsoever, which is really disappointing because Acure's products have usually worked out well for me. I'm also disappointed in the packaging. As you can probably tell, it's all flaky and gross and the little pieces would get on my hands when I was using this, so I'd have to wash them a million times, and it just wasn't worth the hassle. I wanted to love this, but I didn't.

Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream // 100% Pure

Now that I've gotten to this product, it seems like I didn't really like most of these products. Which is okay, because you can't love everything. But I do love this. I've already repurchased it in a bigger size, because of how much I love it. It's a gentle, hydrating eye cream that helps a bit with dark circles but is awesome for creating a base for under eye concealer. I've been using it for about a year and haven't found anything comparable.

Until next time,
