Update: This blog post was updated on November 3rd, 2018.
On Halloween, Bader posted a picture of their staff in Indigenous people’s costumes for Halloween. When their community reacted with confusion and disgust, Badger deleted the post without further comment. Rather than create a dialogue, or simply apologize, they chose to act as though it didn’t happen. To me, this isn’t ethical behaviour and I will no longer be supporting Badger. While you have every right to make the decision that’s best for you, as a content creator I feel I have the responsibility to disclose this information. I am looking at sunscreen alternatives, and will include a link here when I’ve found one I love!
After reading The Skin Cleanse I decided to thoroughly simplify my beauty products.
Finding a simple sunscreen was difficult, as many have incredibly long ingredients lists. They were made with natural ingredients, and they could have worked for my skin, but I wanted to find something that was truly simple, natural, and effective.
Why the Stick Packaging?
I love the stick packaging for a few reasons.
First, it's super affordable, at just ten dollars. It's also really convenient, as I can toss it in any bag for touch ups as needed.
It's also easy to apply. Instead of squeezing a lotion into my hand and applying, I draw several lines on my face and gently massage the balm into my skin. It's simple, takes just a few seconds, and there's no white cast.
What are the Ingredients Like?
What I really love about this balm are the ingredients. It's made with non-nano Zinc Oxide (the best kind!) that will thoroughly protect your skin from the sun.
It's made with five other ingredients, four of which are organic. There's olive oil, beeswax, cocoa butter, shea butter, and vitamin e.
Does it Work?
Absolutely. This is definitely, hands down, my favourite sunscreen. It's simple, easy to use, and it works.
My skin isn't red after being outside. There's no white cast or residue, and it works so well under makeup because it's really hydrating, so there's no dry patches.
And because there's no essential oils or fragrances at all, it's not going to irritate sensitive skin. It's actually calming, because of the healing properties of the natural ingredients.
Have you tried the Badger sunscreens?
