Aloe: The Self Care Community That's Giving You the Tools to Grow

It seems like everyone is talking about self care in 2017, and I'm all for it. I love talking about self care here on the blog and making sure that it's on your mind, because I believe that when we take care of ourselves, we're a better version of ourselves.

One of the best self care tools I've seen, probably ever, has been Aloe, the self care community on Twitter. It's getting a lot of people thinking and most importantly, talking about self care.

Today I want to share the tool with you so you can access the resources and elevate your own self care!

What is Aloe?

Amber Discko, founder of Femsplain, worked on the Hillary Clinton campaign. While the results didn't turn out the way she wanted, she learned a lot about her self care habits and was inspired to create Aloe.

Aloe is a self care community, with a website and blog, a Twitter bot, and a newsletter, with more exciting resources to come.

The Twitter Account

The Aloe Twitter account is my favourite way to interact with the community. By using the #AloeChat you can reflect on your own self care methods while engaging with other people and learning about their self care practices.

One of the things I really like about the chat is that it's available 24/7 so you're never left out or unable to join in.

The Aloe Garden is unlike anything I've ever seen on Twitter. A responsive, beautifully designed garden allows you to reply with different emojis and phrases to get self care tips, tools, and ideas to get you thinking about how you can practice self care.

Some responses I've seen are making lists of things you like about yourself, drinking water, getting outside, and reading a positive news story or blog post. How considerate and caring are these responses?

The Newsletter

You can also sign up for the cutest newsletter ever here. It's a short and sweet letter that's meant to get you engaged in the self care community, thinking about self care, and of course, giving you the tools to elevate your self care practices!

What are your thoughts on Aloe? How are you practicing self care in 2017?

With love,

Sarah
